[VIDEO] Brock Lesnar Apologizes For Post-Fight Actions
Posted by on 07.12.2009
Lesnar makes nice with Frank Mir and Bud Light...
Here is footage from the post-UFC 100 press conference featuring Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion apologizing for some of the things he said following his victory over Frank Mir.
Now that makes what happened a little better.
I dont care what anyone says, going out in front of people and manning up to your mistakes?
That, my friends, is great to see.
I might have disliked his actions after the fight, but this mildly made up for it.
I give a big ole thumbs up to Lesnar for doing this.
Way to be a man yo.

Personally, I was glad to see Brock play the heel after the fight- He gets no respect from MMA fans even though he worked hard to be the top dog in UFC, they boo him out of anger that a "WWE guy" is dominating their precious MMA sport. He's entitled to express his emotions after a fight. Dan Henderson gets a potential KO of the year and then hit Bisping AGAIN while he was out, and people cheer. I'm not blaming Henderson, I'm just commenting on peoples behavior when it comes to the hypocritical mentality of the typical (not all) MMA fan. Bottom line- if Brock didn't have a prior career in WWE, the UFC fans would be eating this up and his merch would be the highest grossing product in UFC history.

Whip the dog is right. I can see the issue over the sponsorship comments. That was awesome by the way, but I can understand the complaints from UFC.

this^... nice to see Brock handle this public apology like a true professional

The apology takes away a lot of the awesomeness that is Brock. I didn't blame him one bit for what he said and cheered my ass off. Mir was running his mouth almost as bad as Bisping about this fight, and just like that British cocksucker, couldn't back it up. Brock should have stuck to his guns...and Bud Light sucks too, drink Miller.

I have no problem with what he said to Mir....F Mir, he talked a lot leading up to this fight and got what he deserved.
The post fight stuff with Rogan was kind of toolish though.

Good on Brock for stepping up like that and apologizing after his post match reactions. He'll realize he can sell tickets without having to play the "heel" all the time, just going out and kicking some ass in the octagon will earn the respect and buys from the fans. Just look at GSP, huge crowd reaction for him and he doesnt have to flip off the fans to get it. The fans will come around to Brock eventually. Its all about earning their respect, he's just so new to MMA still fans arent ready to accept him, but they will.

fuck bud light and dana and the ufc, fake sport. its just a marketed fight. american bar room style but with modern production ... dana thinks hes a hustler. hes whack. fuck budlight, i m rolling with brock lesnar

Dana is mad at Brock for THAT? Thats going to make you so much money in your next fight with Brock. People will buy to either hear what he has to say next, or to see someone beat him down.
I think if anyone should be apologizing it should be Dan Henderson for that shot after already knocking Bisping out cold.

I, for one, am glad to see that... or hear this, rather. True, he does come from an entertainment viewpoint, so, it is natural to perform in this manner.
However, this isn't sports entertainment. This is reality. Professionalism opens doors a whole lot faster than the shit that was pulled.
But taking responsibility is very respectable. Yikes, this is coming from me. Anywho, congratulations to Lesner for, as you all say, manning up.
Though I am sure the dollar signs that could be taken away had something to do with this.

His post-fight actions was the best part of the night.

Not a Brock fan but I do think because of the WWE status he had and the boo from fans, I cheered him on because second to Bisbing wanted to see him get handled in hopes this FIGHTER gets his respect he is doing what 85% of the world would not step into the ring.

I'm sure Dana threatening to pull his bonus if Bud Light pitched a fit is what really sparked the apology, but it at least all seemed pretty genuine, especially getting into how he'd not a bright guy he just wants to fight.
Still...best heel promo he ever cut.

You can't rip on the sponsors. They actually did pay him in a giant pay day made possible by Bud Light. That said the rest of it sells tickets. It shouldn't be done just to sell tickets but Brock has always been a cocky dickhead. So let him be that and people will pay to see people try and beat him.

Frank Mir talked shit and Brock shut his ass up. Brock was riding on emotions and wa speaking the truth. Hey Brock, drink Coors Light and fuck Bud Light because they don't pay you. Dana White was just protecting UFC's reputation and didn't give a shit about Brock's victory or how he felt. If everyone hates Brock then he won't sell PPV's and that means no moolah for Dana White.

This is bullshit. The coolest thing about every thing that Brock did and said after the fight is that it was him, it was genuine emotion and he spoke his mind. It was also fun as hell to watch and hear. But now it's like Brock is just being neutered and turned into a meek, acquiescent corporate puppet. Fuck professionalism. Telling guys to be more professional has become this country's increasingly politically correct (read denial of reality) way of acting like weak minded, ball-less, corporate puppets who are afraid to do anything with some attitude, originality, and grit. Everything has become so sanitized, people have become so compliant as they cower in fear of corporate America and all its dress codes, its codes of conduct, there are very few true rebels left. This country was founded by rebels! The Revolutionary War was won by a bunch f pissed off rebels who weren't gonna take any more shit from people who were trying to control them and their way of life! Where has that spirit gone?

i wonder if he would have said any of this if Dana did not talk to him. He did lose my respect after ufc 100 and this conference did not regain any
Posted By: Guest#2327 (Guest) on July 13, 2009 at 05:01 AM
Huge props to Brock for owning up to his mistake it takes a big man to admit when they're wrong and apologize, if he'd just show a little respect people would be much more open to accepting him. I never had a problem with him as a fighter but you gotta be a professional, as someone already said you can still sell tickets and PPV's by going in there and killing guys without being a jerk about it. Mir wasn't the only one talking trash before the fight.
Posted By: Irish_Paul (Guest) on July 13, 2009 at 12:54 PM
Fuck Bud Light and fuck Mir. Dana should be thanking Brock for making him money instead of this shit.
